  The Carbon Masters Standard has been developed by Carbon Masters, a carbon management company based at the University of Edinburgh. The Carbon Masters Standard is a carbon emission reduction and certification scheme whose aim is to encourage, reward and recognise "best-in-class" carbon management practices.

• Tier One

  The Carbon Masters Standard has three Tiers of recognition requiring the successful applicant to provide evidence of achieving the specific requirements at each Tier. All applicants begin with Tier 1 and must progress through to Tier 2 on recertification.

• Tier Two

  To be awarded the Tier 3 "Gold" Standard applicants must have achieved certification at the Tier 2 Standard and provide evidence that they meet the specific requirements of Tier 3. However, moving to Tier 3 is voluntary with recertification at Tier 2 possible for applicants.
